Last year’s Big Bong Night drew thousands of people smoking cannabis and celebrating life in protest of the law that criminalizes it.
Note: consuming cannabis is currently illegal. The Big Bong Night is for activists only.
See our beloved Israeli cannabis activists words below:
On the night of April 20th(between Saturday and Sunday) we shall gather all the joint/blunt/bong smokers, vaporizers, cannabis eaters, juicers and consumers of all kinds, along with any freedom supporters in general, to peacefully demonstrate our non-compliance in front of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament/legislation building) – in a completely illegal smoking festival with only one message:
Get out of our bodies!!
You will have to arrest us all together, because if you arrest only one of us we will inquire why everybody isn’t being arrested, and only that one person is. And nobody in their right mind will arrest all of us.
Either with a license or without one, either smoking for healing an illness or to maintain general health, and also supporters of freedom from where they may come – everyone is invited.
The prohibition and the drought can end in a moment, come be a part of history.
In this event there is no intention of provocation or breaking a law, it’s the law that sees us this way and not the other way around. We are coming to smoke cannabis, because that’s what we do. And if the state has a problem with the consumption of cannabis it can begin arresting us one by one, and as more brave people come the odds for arrests will go down (they are already pretty low).
As we come closer to the event, we will spread it more intensively in the media as well, and we request the audience to show up with as many cameras as possible.
When it is a matter of truth versus a lie, bravery versus fear – cameras can help against agents of the law who occasionally forget the basis and true nature of their job – by the people and for the people.
This event is focused on this purpose, and this purpose only, not to serve as a platform to strengthen the ones already convinced – so please avoid publishing said material or minimize it as much as possible. The goal isn’t to convince, but to get people to come support our goal.
There will be no speeches or leaders in this event – we are all coming as equal to one another, and with one only goal. This is not a political goal and it is in no way tied to any party or ideology besides cannabis itself.
See you there! 🙂
